Andrew Hutchings on Beaches Around the World | Long Beach, California

When people picture their dream vacation, more often than not, they imagine some sort of scenic beach that is both warm and beautiful. Given the sheer number of outstanding beaches in this world, there’s certainly reason to dream of them!

Beaches are idyllic, memorable, and relaxing vacation destinations. They’re perfect for solo travelers, couples, and families. And there are plenty to choose from. Here is a small list of some of the more iconic beaches around the world.

Matira Beach, Bora Bora, French Polynesia

For those looking for crystal clear water, there’s no better place to be than Matira Beach. The waters here are famous for their turquoise blue hue, which is in sharp contrast to the striking white sand.

There are dozens of beaches and destinations on Bora Bora, so be sure to look around online before making a final decision. Don’t forget to check out potential hotels while you’re at it.

Navagio Beach, Zakinthos, Greece

Try googling for an iconic beach photograph, and the odds are more than good that you’ll spot at least one image from Navagio Beach. Once again, turquoise waters pop to the forefront here.

Navagio Beach is only accessible by boat, providing an excluded yet memorable experience for all travelers. It has more than one view worth watching — as there are rusted shipwrecks under the clear waters.

Tulum, Riviera Maya, Mexico

Many people are looking for a destination that offers both sites and experiences. One such location is Tulum. Tulum is an ancient walled city (ruins) on a cliffside. All of which overlooks stunning waters.

Tulum is a popular tourist destination, and for a good reason. So keep that in mind when planning your vacation — be sure to do so ahead of time!

Camps Bay Beach, Cape Town, South Africa

Camps Bay Beach is a mere ten minutes away from the city, and yet it is such a fantastic location to visit. As with many other beaches on this list, it boasts turquoise waters, white sand, and so much more.

Unlike many other beaches listed, the waters here are backed by a darker blue hue not far from shore, and the water itself can get quite cold depending on the time of year.
